Chin dimpling is commonly caused by a hyperactive chin muscle (mentalis muscle). The increased contracting of the muscle can cause wrinkles and creases to appear in the chin. Small injections of botox into the chin muscles (mentalis) can help smooth the chin and prevent chin dimpling that occurs when talking and expressing. This treatment helps balance the lower face and chin contour.
